Abstract:

A numerical study has been conducted to investigate the effects of H2O on flame propagation speeds and ignition delay times in syngas flame by Chemkin with GRIMech 3.0.The results show that the property especially chemical property of H2O has a significant influence on the combustion characteristics. When H2 concentration is low, the chemical property of H2O increases flame propagation speeds and ignition delay times; When H2 concentration is high, the chemical property of H2O decreases flame propagation speeds and increases ignition delay times.
