Abstract: The CS pipes of cooling water system of coastal power plant are installed in flowing sea water and mainly suffer the impingement corrosion, the galvanic corrosion and the crevice corrosion. The corrosion of CS pipes is affected by the velocity of flow, the degree of turbulence and the sediment concentration of the sea water. Aiming at the major factors of the pipe corrosion, some protection measures, such as the rational arrangement of the pipeline, the inside rubber coat and cathode protection, would effectively prevent corrosion of the pipes, ensure the safety operation of the power plant, eliminate the accident potential and reduce the operation cost.
