Abstract: The model of PV inverter and its control strategy were expounded. Various characteristics of interconnection with power grid were analyzed. The criterions for selecting the capacity and the form of the dynamic reactive compensator were determined. The output characteristics of the PV power station and the selection of its operation mode were discussed. The LVRT ability of the PV power station in abnormal situation of the power grid was studied; and the enhancement of LVRT ability of PV power station by the dynamic reactive compensator was studied too. It was considered according to the simulation analysis that the Huadian Jiayuguan PV power generation project is satisfied the conditions for interconnection with the power grid; the theoretical analysis and the simulation analysis for the project were more accurate, and the experience obtained during this project construction can be used as reference for future PV power station development.
