Abstract: The development prospects of smart power grid and power system technology under the background of fast developing of new energy and renewable energy were described. The concept of three generations of power grid and their developmental stages were explained; and the developmental processes and prospect of China's power grid were expounded. The key technologies of new generation power grid, which are springing up now, were introduced.
