Abstract:Starting with the characteristics of the risk management of the international EPC hydropower projects in combination with the risk management practice of a hydropower project in Cameroon, the writer describes the risk management in three aspects, namely the risk identification & analysis, risk assessment and risk management strategies. The writer builds the WBS model and risk level analysis model for an international EPC hydropower project with his own characteristics. The risks are identified according to the models that are built. The AHP analysis method is adopted for the weight calculations. The fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (FCE) is also applied to the assessment of the risk effect. According to the above research the writer puts forward “the risk management strategies and risk responses system” for an international EPC hydropower project. By doing so, the writer provides the Chinese EPC contractors references on the risk management of the international EPC hydropower projects.
