Abstract:

As the primary protection for oil immersed transformer, gas protection reflected the kind of inside failure. Normally, slight gas reaction to warn, and heavy gas protection to trip. By analysing a slight gas reaction of a 220kV transformer, a false warn caused by moisture absorber blockage was found. This could be referred for oil immersed transformer maintenance.
