Function of 9Eseries gas turbine power generating set in peak load regulation of power grid

Abstract: According to the structure characteristics of 9Eseries natural gasfired combined cycle units in Shanghai Power Grid, the role of these type units in peak load regulation of power grid was arranged. The technical and economical characteristics of natural gasfired combined cycle unit were analyzed and compared with the economical efficiency of 300MW, 600MW and 1000MW coalfired units; and it was pointed out that the gas turbine combined cycle power generation has advantages of comprehensive utilization of energy and higher efficiency. Based on analysis of main equipment operation reliability of 9Eseries combined cycle units, a conclusion was obtained that the reliability of 9Eseries units in load regulation operation is better than that of other type units. 
