    Along with the excitation mode transformation from the traditional, rotating AC exciter to static selfexcitation mode for large or medium hydropower and thermal power generation unit, the higher requirement was put forward for excitation transformer technique. The excitation transformer of Three Gorges Hydropower Plant was developed by using of H class insulating and Du Pont Corporation Reliatran technique. The calculation of main technical parameters and determination of structure were analyzed, and related test method of the transformer was introduced.

    The application of small and medium capacity generator breaker in domestic hydropower stations is in the beginning period, and the experience of their design, selection and reformation is very little. The characteristics of generator beaker was introduced in brief, and the factors must be considered in breafer type selection were put forward. There are some defects in current vacuum breaker, so the breaker must be reformed in practical operation. The reformation process and debug method of the generator breaker were described for reference of the same trade or occupation.

    The temperature control of concrete in construction period is key technology for anticracking of concrete arch dam. The coarse aggregate and fine aggregate of the concrete used in Tengzigou arch dam are all consisted of feldspar and quartz sandstone, which is not useful for heat property of concrete, and this leads the crack control by temperature control is of great difficulty. Aiming at this special situation, a series of anticracking measures by temperature control was adopted, and crack of dam body was prevented effectively.

    Aiming at first kind of nonlinear system, a sliding mode variable structure control method based on system identification by using of neural network was proposed. The controlled system object was dynamically identified by two neural networks. Combining with variable structure control, the limit of variation range for controlled object in the conventional variable structure control was overcome. The simulation results show that the control system has good stability and convergence, meanwhile, system chattering is reduced and good robustness is achieved.

    In the procedure of No.1 unit debugging of Hunan Huadian Shimen Power Plant, when the load increased to 270 MW, the tripping machine occurred twice due to vibration of low pressure impeller shaft and bearing increased over the protection setting. According to the analysis of the vibration characteristics and the operation parameters, it is decided that the vibration is caused by unstable oil film of No.3 bearing of low pressure impeller. The level of No.3 bearing was adjusted. The top gap of No.3 bush was reduced. The low bush of No.3 bearing was center adjusted. Then the low frequency vibration was eliminated at full load, and all shafts and bearings were stable at fine range.

    The coordination control system of boiler and turbine is widely used in thermal power plant which controls the turbine and the boiler as a whole. There are two aspects must be considered simultaneously in unit operation, the first is to use the boiler heat storage fully for fast response to load variation, the second is could not use the boiler heat storage excessively for the safety and stability of the boiler operation. The two aspects are conflict each other and must be treated properly. The inherent delay of boiler will badly influence on the response speed of power grid to load variation. There are three feedforward methods for resolution the inherent defect of boiler. The simulation experiment and comparison for the three methods were accomplished, and the advantages and disadvantages of each method were analyzed. The result provides a theoretical foundation for practical production.

    In the ultrasonic flaw detection of small diameter tube weld, the new method for division of horizontal scale graduation and scanning speed adjustment of apparatus was proposed. By using of the leaning probe with large refraction angle, according to the primary wave of reflection pulse which was passed through the two test horizontal through hole in DL-1 test block in certain proportion, the scanning speed can be adjusted accurately. The method will have a great effect for accurate defect allocation and determining the properties of defect in the root of weld.

    In the commission period of 600MW boiler unit in Qiandong Power Plant, some abnormal phenomena in BBD mill pressure directfired system were occurred in varying degrees which are as follow: the raw coal bin became empty, coal feeder discontinued, top and lower shutters became jammed and not flexible, coal feeder and coal feeder cleaning motor went wrong frequently, etc., even the over temperature and burning damage in coal feeder were occurred.
