Abstract: Using numeric calculation method, the flow field inside rectangular crossflow bed absorption tower of active coke desulphurization installation was studied. The result indicates that the entrance structure of absorption tower has large influence on air flow distribution of intake chamber. The active coke layer has certain effect for uniform distribution of flue gas flow field. The flue gas flow in main reactive core area of bed layer is onedimension flow, and the flow field distribution is relatively uniform. The flue gas flow in material seals at top of the bed and in the base of ash hopper is twodimensions flow. And a certain amount of flue gas flows in the feed inlet. Adding diversion devices in entrance of absorption tower is helpful for optimization of flue gas flow field.
