Abstract: The process of an asynchronous motor vibration fault caused by temperature rise in a bump station and its treatment were expounded. A conclusion was obtained that the allowable temperature and the temperature rise of the motor stator/rotator are not only associated with the insulation class, but also restricted by the thermal expansion of the stator/rotator or the air gap. 
