The development trend of the domestic thermal power industry is to construct the ultrasupercritical units with large capacity. Along with the increasing of the steam pressure and the steam temperature of the unit, the steel grade selected for the boiler heating surface is increased continuously. In the construction period, the top priority is to control the welding process and the welding quality of boiler heating surface. In the construction period of the first 1 000 MW ultrasupercritical boiler in Shenhua Guohua Xuzhou Power Generation Corporation Limited, the supervision of metal quality was enhanced. By inspecting, the defects and the potential hazards of the heating surface tubes were found, and some effective measures were adopted, so the safe, stable and longperiod operation of the unit was ensured.

Taking the crack and leakage accident of a 425 t/h boiler in Henan Zhoukou Longda Power Generation Company Limited as an example, the reasons of crack and leakage were analyzed. From the view of management, some pertinent preventive measures were put forward. It was pointed out that the prevention of crack and leakage of the ‘fourtubes’ must be started from fountainhead, by supervision and management of the whole process, which includes design, manufacture, installation, operation and overhaul, to reduce the probability of the ‘fourtubes’ crack and leakage, lessen the unplanned outage and the economical losses, and ensure the unit safe and economical operation.

Based on the analysis of the valve standards for nuclear power plant and ordinary power plant at home and abroad, these two kinds of valve standards were compared in the respects of the classification, application, main technical conditions and the concrete valve standard etc. By referring to existing valve standard for ordinary power plant, the valve standard for nuclear power plant was blended in the valve standard for ordinary power plant. But in many respects, the valve standard for nuclear power plant has higher technical requirements. The operation approach, which the valve standard for nuclear power plant is combined with the existing relevant standards of electric power industry, was pointed out. This paper proposes to establish unified coordinative power plant valve standard to promote the development of the general electric power industry (the nuclear power generation is included).

According to the comparison of the condenser water level measurement schemes, combining with practical field situation of Huaneng Weihai Power Plant project phase III, the water level measurement scheme of condenser hot well was reformulated, and the control strategy of condenser water level automatic adjustment system was put forward. The variable frequency reformation of the condensate pump of 600 MW supercritical unit and its energysaving effect were analyzed. On the basis of warranty for safe operation of the condensate pump,the ‘one drive one’ mode was adopted in the variable reformation of the condensate pump. The operation data after reformation show that the reformation scheme achieves the design requirements, the power consumption of the condensate pump reduced by 36%, and the houseservice consumption rate was reduced by 0.12%, the energysaving effect is remarkable.

The theory of selected catalytic reduction denitration was introduced. The characteristics of three kinds of catalyst were compared. The main factors influencing on the activity of the honeycombed catalyst (such as the reaction temperature, the ratio of ammonia and nitrogen, the velocity in empty tower, the high contents of calcium and sulfur) were analyzed. The application prospect of the honeycombed catalyst in coalfired power plant was expounded.
