Abstract: The basic principium of lime hydration process for dry flue gas desulphurization and the influence of input condition on the hydration reaction were introduced. The control range of some important parameters in hydration process, such as limewater ratio, water content and others, and the demand of quick lime quality were expounded. The technical principle and the operation situation of several hydration reactors, such as the circulating fluidized bed dry hydration reactor, the NID dry hydration reactor, the horizontaltype double shaft dry hydration reactor and the horizontaltype twostage dry hydration reactor, were compared with each other. The examples of several practical projects were analyzed, and some problems needing more attention were put forward, which can be used as reference for selection of lime hydration process in similar dry desulphurization system.
