Taking the FGD project of a 2×600MW unit of a power plant in Hubei as example, the computation and type selection analysis of the reinforcing ribs for the FGD flue were carried out. Using the LS-SVM method, the high accuracy fit study of the gasconsumption characteristics of PG9171E gas turbine manufactured by CE was carried out. The result was compared with that obtained by the traditional least square method. It is shown by the simulation and the experiment result that under the conditions of the gas turbine with varying temperature and varying load, the fitted result of the gas consumption obtained by LS-SVM method is more accurate.

The thermodynamic performance test of steam turbine involves the heat rate correction. For the exhaust steam pressure correction of the correction items, the manufacturer and related standards all suggest to correct the vaccum to the designed value. But in this method, some problems existed in certain equipments and cool terminal of the unit were covered up, so certain deviation will occur in practical examine of gross heat rate of a unit. In this paper a new correction method was proposed, in which only the influence of environmental temperature should be corrected, the vacuum value corresponding to the current temperature of the circulating water should be used as designed vacuum value of the unit in calculation and analysis. This method is more closer to the practical heat rate of unit operation, and has more direct instructive significance for the power plant in the energy saving and consumption reduction.

The MonteCarlo method has characteristics of flexibility and effectiveness and is widely used in reliability assessment of the power system. However, in order to enhance the calculation accuracy, the calculation time will increase greatly, and this restricts its application scope. The influences of various components in the system on the system reliability were evaluated. On this basis, a simple assessment algorithm was established. By purposive sampling, the components, which threaten the system reliability, were identified. The experiment and the analysis show that the algorithm has higher convergence speed; it can reduce the calculation time and enhance the calculation accuracy in same time. Then the algorithm is more universal.

In the power system and the large or medium generator transformer set with the voltage level higher than 35kV, the short circuit fault current often includes two components: one of them is the periodic component with the power frequency, and the other is aperiodic component, which is damped along with time (it called direct current component sometimes). This characteristics of the fault current are easily to cause saturation of the secondary windings of CT in protection devices, and further cause the protection incorrectly tripping or refusing to trip. The basic principium of lime hydration process for dry flue gas desulphurization and the influence of input condition on the hydration reaction were introduced. The control range of some important parameters in hydration process, such as limewater ratio, water content and others, and the demand of quick lime quality were expounded. The technical principle and the operation situation of several hydration reactors, such as the circulating fluidized bed dry hydration reactor, the NID dry hydration reactor, the horizontaltype double shaft dry hydration reactor and the horizontaltype twostage dry hydration reactor, were compared with each other. The examples of several practical projects were analyzed, and some problems needing more attention were put forward, which can be used as reference for selection of lime hydration process in similar dry desulphurization system.
