Abstract: At the present stage, the major loads of small hydropower station are near region loads, and a large part of them is industrial loads, which consume large amount of reactive power. As a trial, the reactive power compensation technology was adopted to solve the problems of system reactive power absorption and too lower voltage in line tail end, and favorable effect was obtained.
