Exploration potential of Hunan shale gas bidding blocks won by China Huadian Corporation and expectation of “gaspopularized Hunan”

Abstract:The China Huadian Corporation took part in secondary round bid of shale gas exploration right organized by Ministry of Land and Resources and won the bids of Huayuan block and Yongshun block in Hunan province at the first try. The geological conditions, the quantity of shale gas resource and the favorable exploration area of the bidding blocks were analyzed. The analysis shows that the two bidding blocks have good shale gas exploration potential. The content of the exploration and estimation work and the stage targets were determined, which include to explore the reserves of the shale gas, to grasp the shale gas geological exploration and estimation technologies, to develop highyielding shale gas flow, to take part in construction of transmission pipe network actively, to develop the comprehensive utilization of the shale gas and to demonstrate a expectation of “gaspopularized Hunan”.
