Analysis and treatment of the cause of a 335MW unit’s tire burning during startup process

Abstract:

After the overhaul of #4 unit of a power plant, there has been 2 tile burning accidents on power generation exciter’s #7 bearing bush in the startup process. According to analyze, abnormal temperature rise is not only related to large bearing load. The insufficient bearing load, poor contact between axle and bearing bush, the shake of bearing bush caused by large clearance which leads to no enough force to fasten, and dry grinding between bearing bush and axel caused by lacking oil film, can also lead to damage of bearing bush. Using the exclusion analysis method, it is concluded that the building oil film through increasing load is the key to solve the problem on #7 bearing bush.
