Abstract:

Coarse powder separator is an important device of a pulverizing system in a coalfired power plant. The merits and drawbacks of the available radial and axial coarse powder separator are studied and analyzed. A new coarse powder separator is proposed. The new coarse powder separator makes the best of its effective space and introducesa centrifugal separating module creatively which eliminates bumping separation, enhances centrifugal separation, and solves the wear of inner cone and particles accumulation. The results of demonstration show that output of pulverizing system, separation efficiency and uniformity of pulverized coal are greatly increased, and the pressure drop of the separator, fineness of the pulverized coal, cycle ratio and power consumption of the primary fan are significantly reduced. Soft material blockage isalmost solved as well.
