Selection and design of temporary chimney placed on the top of desulfurization tower

Abstract:

The structure of the desulphurization tower with a temporary chimney on the top is modeled by the finite element program ANSYS. The structure and load combination are simulated according to the actual situation and the stress and deformation characteristics of the structure under various loading conditions are analyzed. The results show that placing temporary chimney on the top of desulfurization tower is feasible. With finite element program, the stress of the structure can be clearly figured out. According to the results of finite element analysis, reasonable tower wall thickness and internal rod crosssection can be selected and reasonable structural measures are taken to address the vulnerable points, which can achieve design optimization.
