Analysis of abnormal situation of rotor magnetic pole in 50MW hydroelectric generator

Abstract: In the overhaul test of rotor of hydroelectric generator No.2 in Hunanzhen Hydropower Station, it was found that the alternating impedance of the magnetic pole was decreased and the power loss was increased. The left and right outlet terminals of pole No.9, the impedance voltage of which was decreased in largest scale, were unfastened, then relevant test was carried out, and the reasons of abnormal situation of the pole were analyzed. One of the reasons is metallic interturn shortcircuit in the pole coil. In addition, the dirt in the pole, in which metal particles were contained, should cause local short magnetic circuit of iron core. It is pointed out that the influence of the indirect short circuit of rotor magnetic circuit on the test data should be considered in test.
