Abstract: A multifunctional safety monitoring and fault diagnosing system for wind power generation set was developed. Using the developed system, it is able to carry out the predictive maintenance of the condition of wind turbine drive system, to prevent the secondary fault of the equipment and to reduce the economic losses caused by accidental shutdown. The system is helpful for improvement of modern management level of the wind farm. Other than vibration monitoring of the drive system and the fault diagnosis, the safety monitoring and fault diagnosing system can monitor open flame and smog caused by electric short circuit inside the cabin and can monitor the realtime surface temperature of the devices. The system has functions of video monitoring, voice interaction and radio frequency identification (RFID), which is useful for effective management of the maintenance of wind farms and improvement of the office automation level of wind farms.
