In this paper the current status of energy saving and emissions reducing in power industry were introduced, and existing problems were pointed out. The following proposals were put foreword by author: to step up our efforts to promote the adjustment of electric power industrial structure, further strengthen technique transform for the old units, deep the reform of legal system and market, perfect the mechanism of energy saving and emissions reducing, intensify the research on science of energy saving and emissions reducing, give full play to the role of self- discipline.

Four schemes of steam discharge into air cooling system were planned according to the different nameplate output definition for 1000MW unit. The process flow of direct air cooling system was described. The heat-transfer area of air cooling condenser (ACC), the number of fans and duct rows, the diameter of discharge ducts and the height of the ACC platform for each scheme were determined by detailed calculation and analysis. The result can be used as reference for the construction of air cooling system in 1000MW unit.

The features of the 1000MW ultra-supercritical unit of the phase Ⅳ project in Huadian International Zouxian power plant were introduced. The shafting stability was introduced aiming at 1000MW ultra-supercritical turbine-generator set of Zouxian power plant phase IV. The results calculated in design, which included instability speed, specific pressure, and logarithm damping ratio of bearing, the lateral vibration and torsional vibration properties of shafting, were analyzed. The shafting stability was judged by adopting Q factor method. The causes of steam flow excited vibration and its design criterions as well as preventing measures were expounded. The operating status after putting the measures in practice was described briefly, and the basic stability criterions of turbine shafting used by main manufacturers abroad were recommended.

existing problems and main influence factors of fuel oil pump in Huadian Baotou Power Plant were analyzed. The specific measures of technical reformation for energy saving were described, the operation pattern and the economical benefits obtained from the reformation were introduced. The reformation has obvious effects in preservation energy, decrease discharge and increase efficiency. It presented scientific evidence and valuable experiences for the oil-saving reformation of the same type equipments.

The necessary of improving the reliability of thermal control equipments for medium-speed mill was emphasized according to the analysis of its function and position in 600 MW supercritical units. By researching the influence factors of their installation and commissioning as well as the working condition in normal operation, the author made it clearly that the key points were to raise the reliability of slag extraction valves and quality of the mill inlet wind. Therefore some practical measures in technology and management have been put forward, and how to resolve those two difficult problems in 600MW supercritical unit in Fujian Huadian Kemen Power plant has been introduced in detail.
