Abstract: The features of development history of electric power industry informatization were introduced，and the pointcut for combining of cloud computing platform with informatization was described. Combining with the example of application project of virtual office system, which is being popularized, the practical application of the concept of cloud computing was described. The obvious advantages of the cloud computing applied in electric power production were analyzed. The application prospect of the cloud computing in electric power industry was discussed.
